New York, March 11, 2025 / Prnewswire/ -The UN Global Complacement, in partnership with the KB coalition and the Champions of Change, today completed a high-level business leadership dialogue, gathered at the 69th Commission for Women’s Status (CSW69). Gathering merged over 50 business executives, policy experts and creators of change to accelerate the private sector commitments towards women’s economic empowerment by 2030.
The event marked three important anniversaries for global efforts of gender equality:
- 30 years since the creation of Beijing’s statement and platform for action
- 25 years from the establishment of the Global KB Compact
- 15 years since the creation of women’s empowerment principles (WEPS)
Despite the decades of progress, on average, women are paid about 20 percent less than men, according to the international labor organization leading to significant inequality of life income. In the current rate It will take 134 years to close the global gender gap. However companies with different leadership teams are 25% more likely to exceed their peers.
During the dialogue, participants examined how businesses can apply a gender lens throughout the value chain by creating gender supply chains and directing capital businesses to engage in women, engage male allies, and advocate for policy wishes to congratulate the constant gender gaps around the world. Conversations focused on:
- Invest in women’s initiative: KB Global Compact the attention of its Invest in Women’s initiative, created to increase capital flows for women -owned businesses and comprehensive gender investments, asking companies to approximate their investment and procurement strategies with gender equality objectives. Business executives also shared successful studies on issues on how they have embedded a gender lens in the supply chain operations, stressing that it unlocks different markets, promotes innovation and strengthens the confidence of stakeholders.
- Alely: In a fiery conversation that represents the champions of change champions and Equimundo, the speakers highlighted effective approaches to mobilizing men in leadership positions to sample gender equality and the economic inclusion of women, focusing on cultural, scaled -up programs.
